The presentation of the Combativity jersey for the Vuelta a la Región de Murcia-Costa Cálida, named after the cyclist from Mula and two-time winner of the race, Luis León Sánchez, took place at 11:00 AM at the Tourist Office of the murcian city.
The event was attended by the Director of the Vuelta Ciclista a la Región de Murcia, Paco Guzmán; the sponsors of the Combativity jersey, X-Elio; the mayor of Mula, Juan Jesús Moreno; and the cyclist, Luis León Sánchez Gil.
The presentation began with Paco Guzmán thanking the City Council of Mula and X-Elio, sponsors of the Combativity jersey:
“We appreciate their efforts to be present in the Vuelta Ciclista a la Región de Murcia and other sports. X-Elio is a great company, and we hope they continue supporting sports in the Region for many years.”
Subsequently, Luis León Sánchez expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the Vuelta:
“It’s an honor to have this jersey named after me. I’m sure it will be won by a motivated and determined young rider, and I hope they are from Murcia.”
Finally, the mayor of Mula, Juan Jesús Moreno, shared his satisfaction in sponsoring the Combativity jersey for another year and expressed his hope for a local cyclist to win the race:
“Thanks to the collaboration between the Mula City Council and private companies, we can once again offer this jersey. Our goal is to highlight the name of Luis León in such an important race as the Vuelta a la Región de Murcia, as well as showcase the emblem of our beautiful city.”
“It is also our hope that a cyclist from Mula, such as José María García, could win the race,” he concluded.
