It will be on February 15, 2025.
In an event held in the plenary hall of Jumilla’s City Hall, the starting point of the 45th edition of La Vuelta a la Región de Murcia, scheduled for February 15, 2025, was announced.
The city’s mayor, Seve González, provided the details of this start and expressed her great satisfaction with the announcement.
“In Jumilla, there is a strong passion for cycling; it is practiced by many athletes in our city across all its disciplines and enjoys great support,” she said.
Seve González also emphasized that “the start of La Vuelta from Jumilla will be a perfect showcase for our municipality, as the world’s best teams will be here, in addition to the coverage in national and international media”.
The last time this international cycling event in the Region was held in Jumilla was in 2006, when an individual time trial took place.
For his part, the Sports General Director of CARM, Fran Sánchez, stated that La Vuelta a la Region de Murcia is a hallmark of our Community and, as such, strives to visit as many cities as possible. He expressed his satisfaction that this year the race returns to Jumilla after so many years of absence. He also acknowledged the organization’s goal of increasing the race days, a target he hopes will be achieved during this term.
Finally, Paco Guzmán, Director of La Vuelta, thanked Jumilla’s mayor, Seve González, for her interest in hosting the race. He was confident that another 18 years will not pass before Jumilla is once again a key part of the race:
“If we achieve our goal of increasing the race days, I am sure that Jumilla will have a stage finish. It’s a commitment I am making. I hope it will be soon; we are working on it,” he concluded.
