- The race will be held on 11 February and will be 194.7 kilometres long, with three mountain passes, three Metas Volantes and a uphill finish.
- The race will finish for the first time in Parque Torres of Cartagena, an ascent of just over one kilometre with slopes of over 15%.
- San Javier hosts the start for the first time since 2016 in the renewed Parque Almansa
Cartagena will be the finish, for the second consecutive year, of the Vuelta Ciclista a la Región de Murcia "Costa Cálida"-Gran Premio Primafrio. The route, as usual in the race, will be very demanding. There will be 194.7 kilometres, with three mountain passes, three Metas Volantes and an unprecedented high finish in the Torres Park.
It will start in the new Almansa Park in San Javier, the town through which the neutralised kilometres will run to El Mirador. The K-0 will be there and the real start of the race will take place.
Along a practically flat route, but with its pitfalls, they will reach the municipality of Murcia, through which they will ride 62 kilometres. After the descent of the non scoring pass of Alto del Garruchal, they will start the climb to Cresta del Gallo, through San José (3rd category).
The descent will be through Los Teatinos to the Sanctuary of La Fuensanta, to reach Murcia through the Barrio del Progreso. The first flying goal will be in the Avenida Infante Juan Manuel, on the banks of the Segura River.
After passing through the Barrio de El Carmen and El Palmar, the race will leave the municipal district of Murcia towards Alhama de Murcia, where the "Primafrio" finishing line will be located.
Shortly after, the riders will enter Sierra Espuña, and will face the ramps of Collado Bermejo "Cima Marco Pantani" (Special Category). A long and hard pass that, as in previous years, can make the first important selection.
The descent, very fast and technical, will take place through Aledo and Totana, where the race will face its last great flat stretch to Mazarrón, the town that will host the last Meta Volante, which will be the "Memorial Mariano Rojas".
Next to the Mediterranean, the third category Alto del Cedacero will begin. This pass will be crowned only 16 kilometres from the finish line, so it will be even tougher because your strength will be at its limit.
The descent, fast and easy to pedal, will leave the race in Cartagena. It will enter through Canteras, and will run through Avenida del Cantón, Palacio de los Deportes, Estadio Cartagonova and Plaza España, until it reaches the Port of Cartagena.
The race will finish with an explosive uphill finish in Parque Torres. It will be the first time that the race finishes at this point, the highest point in Cartagena, where you can enjoy privileged views of the Port and the whole city.
The unprecedented ascent, which has just over one kilometre, will be tackled after passing through the Paseo Alfonso XII. It has an average gradient of 6%, with stretches of over 15%. A finish in which the riders who will start with an advantage will be the ones who have played their cards best throughout the race, and whose teams have done a better job of positioning.
This year, the cyclists will pedal to the rhythm of 'Ítaca', a song by Una Noche Fuera. A group from Murcia that combines Indie Rock, Urban Rock and Hard-Rock in Spanish, to achieve a direct and powerful style that will be the soundtrack of the 43rd Vuelta Ciclista a la Región de Murcia Costa Cálida - Gran Premio Primafrio.
